How much does a Tattoo cost? ?
How long is a piece of string? There is no straight forward answer to this as Artists and studios will set their own pricing. The placement, style, size and number of sessions will also affect the price. At one for sorrow our minimum charge is £75 and depending on the Artist, between £75 and £100 per hour
How much do you charge for a tattoo? Do you charge per hour? ?
Each artist works differently. Some Artists normally charge by the hour, others half day or full day rates or by piece. Your artist will be able to advise you on pricing depending on your tattoo design.
Do I have to pay a deposit for my tattoo?

Why do I need to pay a deposit?
A deposit secures your booking and retains the Artists services so they can start working on your tattoo design and allocate the time in the diary for your appointment.
Do Tattoos hurt?
Yes, tattoos will hurt to varying degrees. There are many factors involved and is very dependant on the person. Things like placement of the tattoo, physical health, sensitivity, scar tissue, how long you are getting tattooed for or even the type of tattoo, are all things that can affect the pain level. Tattoos are created by fine needles punching ink into the skin going 2 layers deep.
Are tattoo inks vegan friendly?
We use a variety of tattoo inks at our studio. However, certain inks do contain ingredients derived from animals such as glycerin, gelatine, shellac and bone char. If you are unsure, please drop us a message and we can best advise you for your appointment. Are tattoo inks tested on animals?
Many inks are now both cruelty free and vegan friendly. Most reputable tattoo ink companies do not test on animals.
Do tattoo inks cause an allergic reaction?
It is not common for tattoo inks to cause an allergic reaction, however it can happen. If you are concerned about having an allergic reaction, we can offer a patch skin test before your tattoo appointment.
Do you do cover ups?
Yes we do! We will book you in for a consultation so we can see the current piece and discuss your ideas and options.
I am under 18, can I still get tattooed?
No. You are a minor, it is illegal in the UK. Even if you are days away from becoming 18, you must be 18 or over to get tattooed https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1969/24
Do you do walk-ins?
We normally work on an appointment only basis, as our artists are usually booked up in advance. However sometimes we may be able to facilitate an appointment on the day, especially if there has been a cancellation. Phone us or drop us a message and ask! We will always post on our social media if there has been a cancellation so you may be able to take the spot.
Do you use numbing cream?
Each artist works differently and will be able to advise on using numbing cream. Many artists prefer not to use it. If you want to use numbing cream please speak with your artist as they will be able to best advise on brand and process of using it.
Can I bring my own numbing cream?
Please speak with your artist on this prior to your appointment. Please do not come to your appointment already wearing numbing cream without informing your artist as this could mean cancelling your appointment and void your deposit.

Do I need to tell my tattooist what medication I am on?
Yes. When filling out our consent form we will ask if you are on any medication or conditions, we require all our clients to be totally up front about any and all issues that could be a concern. The reason we ask is because some medication can affect your health whilst being tattooed or the healing process. Your health and safety is our top priority and we want to ensure we are looking after you. If you are ensure of how your medication can affect you please consult your doctor before getting tattooed.

Can I get tattooed if i am pregnant?
Due to potential risks involved we will not tattoo you when pregnant. We also advise you do not get tattooed whilst breastfeeding.
Can I get tattooed if I am sick?
SNo. Your immune system is compromised and will result in you feeling even worse during your appointment, and will negatively effect the healing process which heightens risk of infection.Not to mention you will be spreading sickness through the studio, us and our clients don’t want to get sick! Stay home and get well.
Where should I get my tattoo?
Our artists will be able to advise on the best placement for your tattoo to ensure the best fit for the design.
Do you charge for a design?
Your deposit secures the artists time to start the design process. Our artist do allow for small amendments to designs however if you do make a complete or drastic change to the concept this will require you to pay another deposit.
When will I see my tattoo design?
Each artist works differently, some artists you will see the design on the day, some artists may show you the night before. During your consultation your artist will be able to inform you on the process.
I have my own tattoo design / Will you tattoo my design?
Generally we won’t tattoo a design brought in as it may not translate well, and we can’t be 100% sure it is original, however we are happy to use it as reference to create a bespoke design just for you and discuss ideas during your consultation process.
I have see this tattoo design I really like, can you copy it?
We won’t directly copy another artists work. It can be used as inspiration or as a starting point but we will not copy it as this is a breach of Intellectual Property. However we can create your own design inspired by something that will be unique to you.
How long will it take for my tattoo to heal?
Anywhere from a few days to a few weeks depending on the size and placement of the tattoo, and the person. A tattoo is essentially an open wound, the better your physical health is, the better and quicker you will heal.
Can I cover scars with tattoos? Can you tattoo scar tissue?
This depends on the type of scar tissue such as age, size, condition of the skin. Ask your artist and we will be able to asses the skin and advise.
Can I bring a friend with me to my tattoo appointment?
You can bring one chaperone with you to the appointment but they will need to stay in the waiting area. They can’t enter the tattoo area as this is for clients only whose privacy and comfort needs to be respected.

I have a tattoo that I want covered up, should I get laser work done first?
This is dependant on the current tattoo you want covering up. A lot of the time we can design something that will cover your existing tattoo without the need for laser work, however sometimes if the existing tattoo is very dark, scarred, or if you have a specific cover up design in mind we my recommend getting laser work done first. The best thing to do is send us over photos and we will book you in for a consultation and we can advise the best course of action.
Some of the ink has come out of my tattoo what do I do?
Please come into the studio so the artist can take a look at the issue and we will be able to asses the area and advise the next steps.
