One For Sorrow is a custom tattoo studio and art space in the historic town of Shrewsbury, Shropshire. We bring together a diverse team of artistss with a shared commitment to thoughtful, individual work.
Our artists work across a range of tattoo styles including black and grey realism, dark surrealism, blackwork, grimdark, fineline, colour, traditional, cover-ups and memorial tattooing, each artist bringing their own distinct style, approach and experience.
The studio itsself is an important part of the experience. Carefully curated with original artwork, oddities, curios and antiques, it is a space with its own unique identify – atmospheric and characterful.
We believe a good tattoo experience begins long before the needle touches the skin. It starts with conversation, trust and taking the time to understand what someone wants from their piece. whether you are getting your first tattoo or adding to a long established collection, our aim is to make the process feel considered, collaborative and personal.

Art
We are passionate about art, and the fundamentals and history of tattooing. Many of our artists have traditional art backgrounds, and the studio frequently is involved in personal and wider art projects.
The Experience
We believe that the whole experience of visiting and being tattooed at the studio is something special and individual, and it should be a good experience that lasts as long as the piece itself. We recognise tattoos can be a deeply personal journey for some and we want you to feel as comfortable as possible.
High Standards
We hold ourselves to high standards of hygiene, professionalism and skill to ensure a good customer experience. We also encourage continuous personal development aswell as being a strong team that supports one another.
Not your average studio
Our award-winning tattoo shop in Shrewsbury is home to a large collection of dark art and curiosities with everything from real human skulls, mummified body parts and ancient medical equipment.

Where are we?
We are located in the beautiful historical market town of Shrewsbury, Shropshire in the West Midlands UK. The studio address is:
138 Abbey Foregate, Shrewsbury, Shropshire SY2 6AP.
Public Transport:
Shrewsbury is accessible by train and the tattoo studio is walkable from Shrewsbury town centre (approximately 15-20 minute walk) Buses and taxis are also available.
Driving:
Follow signs for Shrewsbury from the M54 and the A5. Follow signs for Abbey Foregate, as you drive in you will drive past the Shrewsbury council building and column statue. The studio will be on your left hand side. There is a pub called The Old Bell opposite the studio.
Where can i park when i visit the studio?
There are a number of parking spaces opposite the front of the shop. If these spaces are full, there is on-street parking on Bell lane behind the Old Bell pub just opposite the studio. Parking here is unrestricted for the duration of your tattoo appointment.
The nearest public car park is the Abbey Foregate car park just a few minutes walk from the studio. Please be advised you will need to pay for parking here.
